The man moved through the trees, his boots sinking into the snow with each soft crunch. The night was deep, and his breath rose in fleeting clouds, merging with the frosty air. He had come to this place not for adventure, but for solitude. Somewhere between these towering, silent trees and the endless sky, he hoped to find himself again.
As evening faded into night, he found a clearing sheltered by old, twisted pines. He gathered sticks and bark and built a fire, coaxing it to life until flames leapt and crackled, casting golden light into the shadows around him. Warmth seeped from the fire, dispelling the chill that clung to his skin, and he sat close, watching the wood twist and blacken as the fire grew.
It was then, as he sat lost in thought, that he looked up and saw them—the northern lights, blooming like a quiet, ancient spell across the sky. Waves of green and violet shimmered, rippling like silk over the treetops, bathing the snowy landscape in soft, otherworldly hues. The sight was mesmerising, a living painting in the heavens, and he felt himself drawn into it, as if the lights themselves were telling a story only he could understand.
